My name is Renato Ferreira, and I have been an enthusiast for assembling and paint scale models since the time when such kits were available in department stores here in Brazil. For more than twenty years I practiced the hobby of scale modeling, after a few years of hiatus, I returned to the scale model hobby in 2017.
Looking for a solution for painting some old models that no longer had decals, I started making masks for painting these models.
In the beginning, the masks were made by hand with a scalpel and rulers. With the acquisition of cutting machinery, production and quality were boosted, with the production of masks also being used for painting canopies and transparencies, an often tedious task that leads to the risk of damage to the most sensitive parts of the models and when done poorly it leads to frustrations after the model is finished.
The masks created were based on the decal sheets of the models themselves. Taking advantage of the masks produced for my own use and for friends, I then decided to create a web store where I make the products available to other colleagues.
The masks are produced with high quality raw materials, and all products are tested on different surfaces and with different types of paints and solvents. In addition, application tests are carried out to prepare a manual with the application sequence, with the aim of providing the best experience to the modeler.
Masks allow the modeler to unleash all their creativity, allowing them to create effects of fading, wear, etc. Something extremely difficult and risky to do with decals, which already come in their standard color and often clash with the effects desired by the modeler.
Increasingly motivated by the results, I began studies to produce photocorrosive items with a quality compatible with the best items found in the scale model market, and thus the line of seat belts with photocorrosion buckles and polyester textile parts began to emerge.
Cia da Escala's mission is to provide the best experience in painting scale miniatures, allowing modelers with decades of experience or even those just starting out in this wonderful hobby, to explore their full creative potential and thus bringing more authenticity to their models. .
